Working Hard for Money to Buy my DSLR...

I am working hard for more money because I want to buy my DSLR. I plan to get a Nikon D60 or Sony Alpha 350. I think that getting a DSLR is very good because I can take a lot of photos using it. Then, I can use the photos to join contest and win some money.
Do you own DSLR? Have you participate in photography contest?

I have always wanted a DSLR but just could not afford it at the moment. I am looking at Nikon, Canon and Sony but for now I will just be looking and nothing more than that. 
May I know what is your criteria for selecting your DSLR? Is it the quality? price or the package that is being offered such as extra lenses and other accessories?
How much would a DSLR cost over at your place?
I agree with you about joining a photo contest. You must have a good quality camera and a normal digital camera would not make photos as good as a DSLR camera.

For me, I hear that most people say Nikon is the best brand in the market because Nikon is professional in camera. Most photos that we see in the photography magazines are taken using Nikon DSLR. So, buying Nikon DSLR would not be a wrong choice.
For Sony, I would choose the Sony Alpha A300 or A350. The A300 comes with a lot of features such as twin lens. one lens is very expensive and the package comes with 2 lens. So, it is very worth to buy. I look at it because it is truly a bargain DSLR.
For canon, the best part is the wide range of lenses available. the lenses of Canon DSLR is cheaper as compared to other brand. For example, Sony lenses will be very expensive but Canon is cheaper.
so, it depends on the features you want to have for your DSLR. If you want to buy low budget DSLR, then Sony will be a good choice. But if you want best quality photos, then Nikon is the choice. If you want to buy a lot of lenses in the future, then go for Canon.
It is up to you to choose. For me, I will go for Nikon or Sony depend on my budget.

I have 2 DSLRs- A Nikon D70 and a Nikon D300. I bought my Nikon D70 around when they first came out entirely with money I'd earned on the internet. I was very excited. It was the first big purchase I ever made. It only took me a couple months to save up enough money to buy the camera. Then a month or two after I bought the camera, I used my internet earnings to purchase a telephoto lens for the camera. Since then I've used my internet earnings to buy flashes, filters, more lenses, camera bags, and other accessories.
Then I bought my D300 earlier this year. I paid for it mostly with money I'd earned online. But I got myself a part-time job about a month before I bought the camera, so my first paycheck did go towards the camera.

I do participate in photography contests! Online photo contests, magazine photo contests, local photo contests, etc. I've never won first place, but I've been a runner up a few times, and I've been a finalist several times!
