I this my second digital camera, my first on is Canon 2 MPx. I bought this one just for taking my newborn baby girl, and it already to old. So, I give it to my nice and a get my self a new one from Casio EX-Z80 with 8.2 MPx. I choose Casio because the price is reasonable, just under 200$. It use Canon lenses, so the pictures quality is good. From my personal experience, the picture quality is better then my friend Nikon. And it has an advance face detection feature plus Image stabilization. Hope the information could help you out. BR.b

I have a fantastic digital camera and take it almost everywhere with me. It is made by Sony and when I bought it around 3 years ago it cost around 100 pounds plus 30 pounds for a 2Gb memory card to go with it. I think you can probably get a very good digital camera for that price now. 500 dollars will get you the best camera on the market I think

Hi and happy thanksgiving. Well I currently own a canon power shot with 5 mega pixel zoom, 1 bg memory card, sub the whole package. I was given it by my cousin on my birthday and i love it. I didn't ask the price to him but i recon it would be around $200-$250 approx.

In your price range, Panasonic Lumix cameras (with their Leica lenses) and their excellent reliability seem to come out ahead in most comparison trials. Canon make very fine cameras in this range, too, as do Sony and Nikon. Olympus and Sony should not be discounted (unless you can get the retailer do discount them )... Why not head off to betterphoto.com and use their camera chooser to narrow down the field?

Yes i have a digital camera. Me and husband own the 10 meg canon digi cam where we can use for video recording and taking pictures. So far we are contented with it . because its doing good and the battery last longer too. The price was about $500. but i think the best part is you search the picture and size first according to your taste and then you will get the details for it ...

My husband's digital camera is Canon PowerShot A710 with 7.1 Megapixel. It is very nice and it can zoom up to 6x. The Canon PowerShot A710 IS couples a 7 megapixel CCD imager sensor with an image stabilized 6x optical zoom lens that offers a 35mm-equivalent focal range of 35 to 210mm -- a moderate wide angle to a useful telephoto. With a total range of 6x optical zoom, this is quite a bit more than most compact cameras offer, and the inclusion of a stabilizer should help ensure photos aren't blurred from camera shake at the telephoto end of the zoom. Maximum apertures vary from f/2.8 to f/4.8 across the zoom range. The A710's sensor yields an ISO range equivalent to 80 to 800, while shutter speeds from 1/2000 to 15 seconds are possible. Since you have a lot of money you can choose from lots of digicams like Sony, Canon, Nikon and others. You can also use the internet for more research.

I used to work in a camera store, so I know quite a bit about this topic. First of all, you should identify some of the features you want in a camera. For instance, if you make a lot of enlargements or do a lot of cropping and editing you are going to want a high number of mega pixels. If you travel often you may want a durable water resistant or waterproof camera. Depending on what sort of photos you take you will have to decide what amount of zoom you want. There is also the option of getting a camera with a unique rechargeable battery much like a cell phone, or one that can take double a batteries, which are found most anywhere. When you decide what you want in a camera it is easier to narrow down your options. Also, I would highly recommend the following brands: Nikon, Canon, Pentax, or Olympus. They are all camera manufacturers who have been in the business for many years. I would stay away from electronics companies like HP, Panasonic, etc. I have seen many problems with Kodak EZ-Share cameras. They are very difficult to repair also. You can not take them to a repair facility locally, everything must be done through Kodak which involves a lot of shipping. Good luck with your searching and let me know if you have any questions, I love to talk about cameras!
