This is a pretty good discussion and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who like sports,and watch them on a regular basis,and I am sure they probably have a favorite team or favorite teams that they like to root for whenever they are playing either because they like the players or they like where the team is from,and then I am sure there are people who are either not into sports,or they do not like watching sports because they think they are boring and dull,or they just do not have a favorite team,and root for whoever is playing,and I can understand why someone would or would not have a favorite sports team especially since there are so many teams out there for different sports,and that is cool that you like the NJ Devils and that you have liked them since you was a kid,and that you just stuck with it because it was a rival team to all of your family,and I have never really been a big sports person and I have never really cared about watching sports or sport related events because they usually bore me,and the only sport I usually watch is NASCAR because it is always funny watching cars drive around the track while trying to wreck each other out,and it is never boring at all,and I love booing Jeff Gordon,Jimmy Johnson, and Dale Jr but when it comes to other sports I do have a couple favorite teams in baseball I have always liked the Atlanta Braves and they have been my favorite since I was a kid because of Chipper Jones,when it comes to basketball my favorite team is the Chicago bulls because of Michael Jordon because he was an awesome basketball player and I heard he has retired which is really sad,and I loved watching Michael Jordon in the movie Space Jam which was a hilarious movie,when it comes to football I have three favorite teams one is the Carolina Panthers which is my states team since I live in North Carolina even though I do not always root for them,the next is the Miami Dolphins because they are a good team,and because Dan Marino used to be the quarterback and he was an awesome quarterback,and I just liked the name Miami Dolphins and the colors,and then the last one is the Dallas Cowboys which I like the colors of the team,and I also like the team because I am a cowboy and I have always been and I always I always will be,and because I like Dallas and I have always liked the state of Texas because it is an awesome state and because of the Texas Rangers and I would love if me and my fiance could move to Texas one day so that way we would be with other cowboys and cowgirls and I could hopefully make my dream come true which is to be a Texas Ranger and protect the innocent people of Texas.

I have several favorites in American Football, Hockey , and Baseball.But if G-d told me I had to root for Only one team in football, it would be the New York Giants.In Hockey, The Detroit Red Wings.But in baseball I couldn't choose from The New York Mets, The L.A. Dodgers , or The Boston Red Sox.None of these are my local teams.With the Giants, The Red Sox, and The Red Wings it is because of the players.I got to see some of their games and got to know the guys and I liked what I saw.With The New York Giants, it was the coach at the time. I have been a loyal fan of the giants since 1986 when Bill Parcells was coach.And with the Dodgers,it was Tommy Lasorda.i have been a fan of the Red Wings since 1997. They were the first hockey team that I really liked. i got to see them often and I got to know All the players, In fact my favorite hockey player is Brendan Shanahan.I have rooted for The Mets sice the 80's . and the same goes for The Dodgers. I am a fairly new member of The Red Sox Nation. I came over when Schilling became a red Sox, in 2003?Any team that hates the Yankees as much as I , I Had to root for them. I made it just in time to see them win twice!I have seen both the Mets and The Dodgers play my local team, the Nationals. i haven't seen the Giants. My local team, The Redskins has a waiting list for season tickets, so all their games are on t.v. and that's how I see the games.A dream trip would be to go to Detroit to see The Red Wings. ps. I do root for my local Redskins and Caps and the Nationals. ps. I am sorry about Brodeur. I hope he is healing and he gets back in time for the playoffs.

my favourite team is not a local team but Liverpool FC from UK. I am from singapore and have been following them since i was about 10 years old. it has been easily 25 years now i am with them. The closest i came to watch them was in 2002 when they came to singapore to play a friendly game and i managed to catch them live in action. that was the only time and i would always try to watch their game lives on TV and they gave me the most joy when they won the 2005 Euro Cup in the most amazing comeback in history after trailing 3-0 at half time. This season they are doing well and i hope that they can win the league title and end the long 20 year wait and agony of their fans for the title

My favorite team is Arsenal, an England football team playing for English Premier League. I have been supporting Arsenal since I was young and when I started to watch football matches. I think their football skills are good. I also like the coach, Arsene Wenger.
