Why do girls like to pout on pictures and posts it on internet?

Why do girls keep pouting in their pictures? That cliche is way too old. I mean, I'd understand it more if the trend before was to take pictures of someone kicking them in the face, then they'd have a reason to take pictures of themselves pouting.
