The other day I had been to the laundry. I took the clothes and the guy told me to pay Rs 12.50. I had around Rs 20.00 with me, I could've easily paid. But guess what guys, I forgot counting... I stared at the guy without anything in my mind. I dint know what to do. I saw the coins in my hand and wondered what to do...
I just gave all the money to him and waited.(Thank god I dint forget 20 is greater than 12.50). He was a nice guy, he gave me the exact change which i counted when I reached home. I was shocked...
Tell me guys what would have you done if u'd have been in my shoes....

This happened to me sometimes too. Sometimes, it's just a simple mathematic calculation, but I don't know why my mind is just blank, and don't know how to do the simple counting. I guess we've been depending on computers or calculators too much, and lacking practice for those simple calculation.

You know what, I see a point in what you are saying. We do depend a lot on calculators a lot these days. Could that be the reason I forgot counting that day ???
Maybe...
Well, happy mylotting...

Hi praty. It can happen sometimes we all of us. We can have mind break sometimes. Once I was in the store and after buy something I made a check to pay and I forgot how was my signature! it was about some seconds only but the cashier looked me with a funny face and asked for my ID card. Of course he was distrustful. What a shame! I think that you did the right thing.
Have a nice day.

Forget how to count suddently? Sometimes it happen to me too. because I was absent minded.
I think you were thinking about somethings else, and suddently it was your turn to pay, you just don't know how to do because you didn't prepare to count. Every thing we do need prepare, even we don't parepare in behavior, we would prepare in our mind.
Just pay more attention at what you were doing , can easily avoid the happening of this kind of things.

hey
if i would be in your place i would have relaxed my brain and thought of what exactly am i doing. i think if there is ever a case where you cannot understand what you are doing, you should always hold back and give it a thought over.

Well i dint think of relaxing at the moment. I thought that if i wait for even a minute more, all the other customers would have killed me and the guy there would've thought that i am a freak. If i would've been alone there, I'd have surely cooled my mind. But as it was just a small amount, I dint take it that seriosly...
Thanks for your response buddy, have a great day...

Weheheh! This story reminded me of gandpa Bob's experience with a friend he forgot his name. Well, it's not only you who have experienced such. Our brains really have its shutdown and bagging down mechanism when it can't really process a lot though. Chill out! When that happens to me, I would really say "Hey, what are honest people are for?".

I might just panic. I mean, counting is one of the few things you learned in life. When you were a kid your parents would teach you how to count from one to ten, and the moment you stopped remembering how to count is something scary.
