Is Mp3 palyer still RELEVANT when we already have iPOD?

Yes if the MP3 company will still manufacture and if there are still people who patronizes MP3 even if there is already Ipod in the market. I believe mp3 is much cheaper than Ipod so i think it will still survive today. Just like in some far away provinces where a diskette is still being used over a CD in storing information from computer to computer.

I own an iPod Video, and it's like 30GB (not really... after it's formatted) I don't have too much problems with iPod Video I have, it's just that it does get kind of annoying to use.. like you have to sync the iPod and that takes load of time... (it does) I did have an mp3 player back in the day, before I had an iPod Video, and that was so much easier to use and consumed so much less time, like all you had to do was just move the music and other files around and treat the thing like a regular flash drives.. I mean I guess it depends on the other people's taste, if they like regular mp3 players more than iPod, than mp3 players still has a chance to survive a little longer.. I do like iPod video too, like it does have some features (not so much compared to the newer generations of ipods) but it tends to get really annoying when it comes to syncing the ipod, especially when it comes to the file compatibilities.. it doesn't recognize the video files other than mpeg4's lol.. yeah..

of course not, actually i think ipod can't survive either. the final winner is cellphone. there are so many digital products such as PSP, NASI handy GPS, also including mp3 player, though we coulde put them all into a bag yet it wouldn't be so convenient. and these stuff above all are not necessity. you may not cary them with you anywhere. as to cellphone, people need it no matter you are a student, doctor, lawer, let alone businessman. somebody even say they can't live without it. the advance cellphone is a multiple function terminal. it can play game, read book, guide road, playing mp3 is a piece of cake. the future of digital world is cellphone without a doubt.

as far as I'm concerned, it is an mp3 player.

I know a lot of people prefer other makes and models for features and quality, which are often thought to be better value too.

I love my Ipod, but don't think it's necessarily so wonderful as to put others out of the market.

I still think MP3 players can survive from the Ipod because an Ipod is expensive and if you want a 4 GB Ipod, it could go for something between $100 and $150. I saw an MP3 player in Walmart for only $29 today. You can download the same songs and there isn't much difference.

Well an ipod is still an mp3 player, it's just the most popular brand. Yes I think they will survive, as they are inexpensive and work pretty well. I think you can get them for less than 10 dollars online, which is pretty good. The really interesting question is, can the regular ipod survive when the ipod touch and iphone are getting cheaper every day, have wifi, and look cooler than the original?
