modstar (4957) | 1 year ago | Good choice! I mean because we're the same hehe.. Well i think Windows Media Player is a lot more stable and fully compatible of course because it's made my Microsoft.

jedimind (141) | 1 year ago | i would choose windows media player. firstly because it comes with every windows operating system, the others don't. you have to download them. Even if i did have the other applications, i would still use windows media player because it's set as my default player and i am not inclined to change it.

modstar (4957) | 1 year ago | Ah huh. I agree with you Jedi. I'm used to using Windows Media Player too because it compiles my music exactly the way i want it to be without really making too many folders and sub folders.

8. Zezlol (305) | 1 year ago | With almost an 80% market share in the digital music industry, iTunes has set the standard in digital media and has blazed a trail for the many services that followed. The last few major updates to iTunes have added everything from new looks to the ability to watch movies and TV shows, download podcasts, and get recommendations for iTunes Store purchases. iTunes 8 isn't a revolution in media players but its new features, a new grid layout, Genius playlists, the Genius sidebar, and a nice new visualizer, make an already capable application even more indispensable.
Although iTunes is a bit of a resource hog, doesn't have the prettiest skin and is limited in some features, I find myself using it a lot more simply because of its excellent functionality with playlists and ease of ripping/burning. If you have an iPod, sticking with the user-friendly iTunes won't kill to be honest. For Mac users, this player is so much easier to use than other music software. The pause, next, and previous keys (on the keyboard xD) work with iTunes perfectly, and the Apple remote delivers a new definition to the word "practicality" (or was that "laziness"?=P). You can change songs while laying on your bed.^_^
Windows Media Player is just so... laggy. When I had it on my old laptop, it froze constantly while Itunes, which is a resource hog, ran much more smoothly. It made me question how others could say iTunes is extremely slow. WMP, to me, is the worst, most backwards media player ever compiled. It plays limited number of music formats, has no good plug-ins, all plug-ins have to be bought and cost way too much, it can't even rip CD's to MP3, and doesn't support MP4's like all its competitors.
I have nothing against Winamp, in fact, I heard it's pretty awesome. If iTunes wasn't so much more convenient for me, I'd probably give it a go, but, alas, I am a loyal iTunes user.

modstar (4957) | 1 year ago | I don't know about the other Windows Media Player users but i can play everything using my Windows Media Player after i installed K-lite codec. There seems to be no problem with files types playable on this application. Maybe it really just depend on what media player we are accustomed to use. I have nothing against Itunes too, my computer is just too weak to keep using Itunes.

10. Zezloler (413) | 1 year ago | After reading this discussion, I remembered that my friend gave me an install file for Winamp. I installed the program and instantly began liking it. o_o
I've been using iTunes for a long time now, mostly because I have an iPod. However, I frequently have problems and lag with it, and I don't really like it. It's probably because my computer sucks, but my experience with it hasn't been the best.
I've tried Windows Media Player for a while but continued using iTunes (because of my iPod). I didn't see anything wrong with it, but I didn't see anything special that would want to make me switch.
Today, I tried Winamp, and it's amazing. o_o It looks good, there's no lag at all and I find it easy to organize my songs. I decided to switch.=P
In my opinion, I guess all three programs are good, depending on your computer - they're just organized differently. The differences in song playback are minor, I think, and it's just a matter of what you're accustomed to and what your computer is comfortable with handling.
