Try another monitor first to confirm, but i think you video card is dead.

Make sure you videocard is plugged in all the way, and the connections are good. If you're getting the hetrz values on the screen, more than likely the monitor's ok (but it must be an older monitor).

well i don't no about your problem but few years back my monitor started acting funny.. it would go off without any indication.. i called in my guys and they found that my video card was all dusty and soiled.. they cleaned it well and it's been working just fine for me ever since.

There is no problem with your monitor. I think your computer is not detecting your harddisk. Tell the whole content of the display so that i can tell you in detail and solve your problem

I think till now you have got the solutions indeed since you have posted the querry in mylotting but inspite of that I would like to share with you some solutions :

- first check the cable from both side means from the computer and monitor both side
- check this problems with other computers

- check it with different cable

I think within above 3 conditions you would be able to find out the reason of your problem

as i see , i think the video card is turned bad...i would suggest to try to see if you hard disk is connected during start up..also check for a beep sound during start up...try to change the monitor...if you give more details like your monitor and pc configurations and ram , that would help to figure out the problem...
