"Wildlife" in Metro Manila and Environs

Among Philippine cities, Metro Manila is the place where I see a lot of stray cats. Individual animals rove around looking for food mostly at night or congregate around open garbage cans. I wonder if other cities around the world have many stray cats and what have people done about it?

Here in Cavite we have a lot of stray cats and dogs we even have stray cows! Most of the time they get hit by a car, Jeep or trucks and i don't think we have any dog/cat pound here (well we might have some but their existence is close to nil thou). I think the owner of those pets should be fined for not taking good care of them

I know of one community here in Davao City that have no stray cats and dogs. People in the village eat them. I don't know if this is the right solution but it sure provides "pulutan" or food to the drinkers.
