When buying a dog are AKC,CKC papers important if parents are on the premises?

I know if you wanted a show dog you would need them but if it's just going to be your pet and you knew by the parents it was fullblooded...would it matter?(provided the price was lower)

i have always had labradors and stray dogs with me all my life and i have never really bothered about the bloodline or the papers of the dog.... i dont really care if the mother and father of the dos were imported or wether they were champions or just ordinary house dogs cos according to em every dog is the same.... i cannot differenciate between dogs..... i had two labs which i had adopted who could have easily been from a champion bloodline but i cared a damn..... as long as they were dogs and good dogs...naughty dogs as dogs are supposed to be that was enough for me !!
