good place to be around for few hours in singapore???  | |  i hav a transist on singapore on my holiday trip to Australia, so i was wondering if i could go around some close by area for sightseeing or shopping. can anyone recommend me any places which are close to airport and have easy access of transportation. i might be out for 2 or 3 hours...

| | 2.  timou87 (1523) | 1 year ago |  two to three hours is not a lot of time to spend, so i would say that if you are here for shopping, head on down to the the cluster of shopping centres around suntec city convention centre. it is a short taxi ride from the airport, and you will find lots to shop, eat, and see at the three shopping centres located at the area. it is alos quite near the esplanade, and you could head there for some alfresco dining and outdoor arts and music events.

from airport. if you take a train, you'd have to transfer at Tanah Merah Mrt (8min journey).
From tanah Merah mrt sit all the way to city hall mrt (the interchange). You can alight here to shop. OR you can change train to the red line and sit to orchard road mrt.
