Does alcohol gives you the confident to do things?

When I was young I used to think that people who drink alcohol are dangerous, out of there mind, consume by hate and I hated those people.. Not until i've learn to drink beer when I was in my freshmen years in college i was influence by my classmate, they had told me that its not bad to drink beer it'll just give you confidence to do things that you want to do... and so I learned to drink and got drunk so bad. I puked for the first time of my life and it was not good. Well as time goes by I got older and wiser and learne to myself while im drinking not only beer but also different drinks such tequilla, wine, rhum and even tried other mixed drinks. So I thought does alcohol gives me confident? .. Well with my experience It did gave me confidence to do things BUT it was under my conttol.. So I ask you now do you feel the same way like I do?...
