Do You Find High School A Good Environment For Making Best Friends?  | |  I'm finding it kind of hard to become really good friends with people who I only have one class with. We get a few minutes between classes and lunch to socialize. Sense I do stuff during lunch (play basketball) with one of my best friends I don't really sit at a table for any longer than it takes to eat. I don't mind sitting at a table for an hour talking, but I prefer to be active and move around.
I find school to be a good environment for meeting people, but not a good environment for making bonds with them. I find that I really have to get their number and invite them to do something on the weekends to build any connection.
The only exception I find to this is sports or after school activities, but even then I focus on the sport (like to be active) more than socializing and slaking off.
Anyone got any thoughts on this topic?

Yeah,I would definitely say HIgh School is a good environment to make best friends.At this age,I'm now 43 years old but the friends i'm still hanging around were my classmates and batchmates in Highschool.After graduating in Highschool and in college we parted ways for a while,as in working somewhere else without them and having families.But there are from time to time keeping in touch,asking how they were doing,updating what's new in our families,work.It is always a test of time how we surpassed all those trials and intrigues in our friendship.But if the bonding,love and concern is still there,friends will always be friends forever.BTW,what I find good and amusing with this deep rooted friendship is,our kids are friends too.

| | 2.  zalilame (592) | 1 year ago |  I do think its a good place to find good friends when you know how to pick one. I still have friends from high school even though its been 13 years I left them. They are my good friends and we still see each other up until now. The secret, don't be lazy to ask about them. Go see them once in a while and have fun talking about you memories together. I know I love them.

There are so many experiences that you share with high school classmates because all your peers are with you everyday. At times the monotonous repetition seems maddening, but having everyone you know around makes for such a special atmosphere.
I find as a college student that, yes, I did lose a lot of relationships after high school, but I kept so many close ones too. My closest friends I met during high school I did extracurriculars with and the memories are endless! Meanwhile in college, I'm still in clubs, but a lot of the new people I meet...it's kind of awkward. If you meet them on campus, it's weird trying to keep that relationship off campus, especially for those that are at commuter schools.
Although the four years of high school are the most awkward times and miserable times, the friends you survived with have a special bond with you.
