sress is not the cause of acid reflux disease,it can lead to behaviors that trigger the symptoms, like eating fatty foods or drinks too much caffeinated coffee.many people experience heartburn at night when lying down.this because when the body is horizontal it maybe harder to keep acid in the stomach.here are some tips allow 3 hours between dinner and bedtime you will have digested by then what you have eaten.expert recommend lifting the head 4 to 6 inches.try putting a 4x4 piece of wood under the legs at the head of your bed.or a wedge foam designed to help on an incline.pillows alone won,t help raising your head only put pressure on your esophagus.sleep on your left side and make gravity work for you actually sleeping on your left side can help the stomach contents pool away from esophagus.avoid alcohol.its a trigger for heartburn.

Although every one is different - I know for a fact, as I recently experienced this - stress can cause heart burn - Bad heart burn like you've never felt before. I had an ulcer so I know the pains. However, I recently went through an ordeal where I was having such pains, I thought i was having heart attacks the pain was so dibilitating. Went through a battery of tests and all come out perfect. Long story short - when what was causing my massive stress went away, so did the heart pains. Doctor was flabbergasted.

Yes I read that, but my point was...it was not something that i was eating, but something that was eating me.... I drink tea constantly, add hot salsa to most everything I eat and spicey foods are my favorite. It never bothers me. It was what was causing my stress - which was a person. When that person left my life - my stress stopped and so did the heart burn. Point being, it is not always food that causs it. It's often not what we are eating, it is what is eating us.

hi dear friend, thanks a lot for the information. its very important for me as my hubby suffers from heartbuen and its tooo bad. as you have written , that whn the person is lying down in the night basically, it triggers. its hundred percent true because when he is lying , maximum times it is that that time that he experiences heart burn. thanks for all this tip. i an copying it and willl will ask him to do all what is written in it. the gap at bed time is what i think makes the situation worst. because sometime, or most of the time we eat so late and are soooooo exhausted that we eat and go to bed. that is the masjor reason , i believe.

There are many factors that can cause heartburn. I suffer from heartburns most of the time and at some points, my doctor put me on PPI to correct the problem so I know I lot about these things. Stress is one of the worst triggers of heartburns and GERD. According to studies, the body releases certain hormones to fight stress and these hormones can cause metabolical imbalance in your system. On the other hand, poor diet and bad posture can also cause heartburns. Fatty foods and caffeine can trigger heartburns. Slouching can also cause heartburns in some people.

Hi friend,I feel even heartburn is related to stress.Howmuchever less I eat I get heartburn but I am stressed a lot.I love coffee but I dont take too much.Only 2cups a day.I dont think the tips which you have given would be useful for me as I get heart burn even if I eat less and take long walks.I tried every method .But sometimes I never get when am not stressed and have a good night sleep.I am planning to learn meditation by attending meditation classes as I am not able to meditate at home. When I try to meditate only I get unwanted thoughts.thanks for sharing.happy mylotting.

Yes and No!Heart burns results from indigestion of some junk foods and masala rich foods. You have to be aware of what you are eating to avoid heartburns. You can try gelusil or digene tablets to get a remedy if it is the cause. Also,in my own experience, there are some psychosomatic reasons behind heartbuns like tensions and stresses.Prolonged heartburns can be get rid of, by changing your stress related works.
