paternity of child

my husband claimed my son as his fully knowing that he was not his (he signed the birth certificate) now has abandoned us and wants to back out

Well, it's too late. Although if he gets a DNA test, it could prove that he's not the child's father. In the meantime, he's responsible for child support. Go to court.
