It is a nice city. It is the summer capital of the country. The weather is cool and cold. In summer, many people come here to have a vacation. It is also one of the favorite tourist spots. People here are very friendly and rich in culture. You can see mostly the Igorots and the Ilokanos here. It is a favorite place to have a date here in the philippines. You can also go to Ifugao which is just very near to see the seventh wonder of the world which is the "rice terraces". You can watch the Panagbenga Festival and have lots of fun. There are many vegetable, flowers and fruits specially strawberry sold here. You can see many waterfalls and caves. You can taste the igorot delicacy pinikpikan with etag. There is also the tapey or rice wine, strawberry wine, lambanog, cherry wine and basy. There are also many beautiful girls here. What else can you say?

I love Baguio! I live here, I was born here. I hope investors would stop destroying our city by putting up more building and cutting our trees. You cant replant a full grown pine tree!!! I'm sorry if I seem to be selfish here. There are SOME people who mistakes Baguio natives to be unkind, thief, and what not when it's this students and some people who are preying on our tourists and on our place and leaving a bad impression about people_indigenous people of Baguio. Baguio City is Beautiful yes, but not as beautiful as before. when you here of Baguio you think of cold weather and trees, lots of trees! Why would investors take away the trees and replace it with concrete when it's this trees that made Baguio what it's known for. Houses started to replace trees on our mountain, what an eye sore! I'm sorry everybody, but it kills me to watch Baguio_a place like no other deteriorate. Come and see the place, love it like I do but please when you visit the place respect it, keep your trash in proper places and have a wonderful time!

I spent my Christmas last year in Baguio City, it was my first time to visit this city also. I was so excited to see the tourist spots like the Burnham Park, Wright Park, The Mansion and Mines View Park. I bought all kinds of souvenirs from foods, t-shirt, strawberries from La Trinidad farms, fruitwine, jams, brooms and many more, my favorite is the Mikasan white and choco flakes. I took a lot of pictures. Enjoyed the view by the terrace of SM Baguio while dining at David's. Lunch at Rito's to savor their specialty dishes like Bulalo, Pinakbet, Daing na Bangus and Papaitan. I bought a lot of ukays like bags and stuffed toys at the night market also haha! Been there again 2x this year...oh i really loved this place!

Yes i agree with you that baguio is really nice and unique place here in the Philippines, its the only place here in our country which has cold climate and where the pine trees and strawberries are abundant, I've been there twice alrealy and it's always been beautiful but the second time when I went there obviously its a little bit crowded or increase in population but still nice to visit with.

Baguio City was established by Americans in 1900 at the site of an Ibaloi village known as Kafagway. Baguio City was designated by the Philippine Commission as the Summer Capital of the Philippines on June 1, 1903 and incorporated as a city by the Philippine Assembly on September 1, 1909. The three main access roads leading to Baguio from the lowlands are Kennon Road, Marcos Highway, and Naguilian Highway. Kennon Road starts from Rosario, La Union and winds through a narrow, steep valley. This is the fastest route to Baguio but is dangerous, with landslides during the rainy season. Marcos Highway, which starts from Agoo, La Union, and Naguilian Highway, which starts from Bauang, La Union, are longer routes but are safer than Kennon Road and are the preferred routes for coaches, buses and lorries. The city of Baguio is known for its mild climate. It's called the summer capital of the Philippines.

Baguio City is great, I had a chance to visit Baguio last April (in time of my 34th birthday, a grand birthday gift from God, I supposed)2008 because of our annual retreat in the University. I came from Davao city so the thought of going to Baguio is one of my long cherish dreams, seems like a luxury because considering the huge expenses going there, I already resigned to the idea that going there remain a dream. But on my 34th birthday, God give me a lifetime treat when we go there and experience Baguio City life. We toured all the wonderful landmarks in Baguio. Starting at the Strawberry field at 5:00am (after the retreat), then we climb at the Lourdes grotto (my image picture I posted here is actually I shot taken from Lourdes grotto, I am standing before the statue of Mother Mary at the top most of the grotto, we then proceeded to Burnham park, then to The mansion, wright park, mines view park, to the market where we bought "pasalubong", then to the Camp John Hay/PMA. We also visited SM baguio and I was quite surprise because there's no aircon.lol! It was great, the climate is super cool and at night, the environment is chilling that I had to double my garments and my blanket, something I didn't do in Davao. It has a beautiful landscape. By the way, we stayed for five days in Baguio in the Betannia retreat house of the RVM sisters.

I remember how our family would go to Baguio almost every summer when I was young. We would go to the same places each time and yet still enjoy them and look forward to coming back the following year. Unfortunately, though, it has been almost ten years since I last went there which makes me wonder how different it is now from how I remember it to be then...
