It's maybe out of DESPERATION I think... I'll be a hypocrite if i say I didn't cheat once in my student life, I did cheat once or twice or a couple of times, but I see to a point that I learned something from the lesson, that I am capable and still able to comprehend the lesson and stick it to my understanding. It is not fair I admit to the teacher, classmates and especially to one's self if one cheated his/her way up the ranking in the class, this is very much evident in students in primary and secondary level, however seeing such practice in students in colleges and universities is very much alarming. What we have learned in our tertiary education is already the real deal, whatever we learned from our stay in the university is the very weapon we will be using when we enter the battle of our chosen career, and it's sad to think that some of this weapons are not sharp enough to even produce a quality-grade attitude towards one's work, instead they have a very dull and blunt weapon produce from copying a classmates answer or work when one is asked to concentrate on her own. Well with the fast advancing technologies nowadays children of all ages and students alike are becoming more and more lazier to study their lessons after class. In our place you will find most of them in computer shops focusing and exerting their much effort on how to kill their opponents in a computer or online game. I cannot say it's a waste of their time, seeing those kids really enjoying and very much engrossed on the game but I was hoping they could do something more productive or something that could enhance and develop their personality, that I think is much worth of their time.

Hi, helloxp! I share your concern about the rampant dimension of cheating by students nowadays. It's very sad indeed. Cheating at exams is just another reflection of how rotten our society has become. Everybody thinks of materialism as the main essense of acquiring university education... the meal tickets as some people call degrees in my own country.
If students were really after inventions and other achievements, they would not get themselves involved in exam malpractices. A student who bags a degree he does not deserve might find himself unable to defend it at work later in future. However, the workplace and the the process of reaching there has also been perverted. Who will save the university system from being a mere shadow of its old self? Some lecturers are also accomplices in the exam corruption epidemics.
I think it is high time it is re-established that the university education is not meant for everybody but the best in intellects and morals. Enough of rubbish degrees!

There are others who doesn't even have to take an exam to pass a subject, either because they are friends with their instructors,or they are very influential. Those who actually cheat are those who are either too desperate or too lazy to study. They can ruin a school's reputation, or themselves.

If the examiners are not able to spot them cheating...the creditability of the school examination body is really questionable to me. Probably not a recognised insitution. Anyway, if the employers have high requirements for their staff, then it will be tough for them to prove their worth and to reflect on their results.
