Many persons are of the view that jeans area reugged item and can be just thrown on and worn, utilitarian I believe the word you would use. This is a fact and they are also quite versatile too. This does not mean however that they should be worn indefinitely without washing.I had and experience on a bus I would never want to repeat.I was sitting in a bus and a gentleman came in the bus and sat beside me.I must admit that I had just closed my eyes closed as I was trying to catch up on sleep - I had a very hectic week. The instant he came into the bus I could tell by the stench he carried ,it was almost like a jolt of lightening, so I opened my eyes to find out what was causing this stench and was surprised to find the most unkempt individual, I had ever seen. His hair was uncombed and matted, his shirt originally white now turned brown and his blue jeans was now a dark blue blue (it started life as light blue)and it had a story to tell.Every place he had ever slept ,and every food he had ever eaten was adequately represented and there were finger well hand prints all over his jeans. Needless to say the other passengers made quite a fuss and the conductor eventually took him off. GOOOD HEAVENS ,CAUSE I AM SURE I WOULDNT HAVE SURVIVED THAT TRIP DUE TO ASPHIXATION OR SOME SIMILAR FATE !!! What is your view on washing your jeans ?

i don't think it was just his jeans, i think this guy had a major problem wth hygene control full stop! i personally wash all my clothes after one use, with the exception of if i am painting and decorating, and then i will only have some work clothes over my regular clothes, and those will be washed whe the paintng job is finsished.

well you are right about clean jeans but the individual you described had matted hair, a brown shirt also. He sounds to me like a person who is homeless and does not have access to a washing machine.

You are probably right about this guy but I have noticed this trend with other persons who I dont think is homeless.

I wash my jeans after wearing it once or twice because I will feel the jeans get heavier when I didn't wash it.
