When someone t;ells you what is happening in the movie, why bother gong to it. |

| My husband and I got a free movie pass that would have been used to go to see The Changeling, but I do not know if we will go to see it now. You see, someone here on mylot, gave away the whole plot, what happened in the end, and the conclusion so all the fun was taken out of it and it was done in great detail. Now the only other movie that we might see is that new James Bond movie. The fact is I just want the highlights from the movie, is it a happy ending? Who stars in it? What type of movie, not the whole thing done for those who will be unable to see it, either two years down the road when it gets on Tv, or will be unable to get it in the rental. So I was wondering whether someone's detailed description of a movie, without the warning "Spoilers' made it so that now why bother to see the movie now since they already told you about it? | | | | | |

| | That drives me nuts when people do that. I will not rent or go to see a movie if I already know what is going to happen it it. | | | | | | |

| | I always thought it was funny when I saw those old Tv shows when the guy in front was talking about what was going to happen and you saw the hero and his girl squirm. But when it happens to you, it is very annoying. | | | |

| | Oh I hate that to, do not how anyone can put their toes up because there is not much room and they cannot even get their feet up. But what I really hate besides the interruptions is those tall people who sit in front of you, and you have to move your head side to side to see the show and then they always come in late when the good part is showing. Yes, we rented the dvd and saw it at home again, but it is not the same thing. | | | |

| | AAaAAaahhh!!! One time I was at the movie theater, I think I was watching "Shrek 2" -for the fourth time, my sister was obsessed with it!- but anyways, there was this girl in front of me and she spent the WHOLE movie saying "now THIS is gonna happen, and then that... Wait, he's gonna do this or that" and that kinda stuff. I was so mad at her, I had to get out of there and go to the bathroom or something before I'd lose my mind. If you already know the movie from head to toe, cant you at least let the other people enjoy it? Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp | | | | | | |

| | Why spoil it for anyone else. I did see the movie, we rented it and we loved it, but it really hurt that this lady told what was going to happen and the outcome, so even though it was a true story,it happened decades before my time, and it was a local story so that unless you lived there, you would not have heard of it. | | | |

| | First, if I had free tickets to see a movie, I would use them. If I decided not to, I'd find someone who would appreciate going. Secondly, I feel that while you're reading a report about a movie you might want to see, you'd stop reading as soon as you learned it was going to tell you too much. I would stop reading at that point. However, it probably would be a good night out for you and your husband suspensful. Go and enjoy yourselves. | | | | | | |

| | Well it was someone here in myLot who gave out the whole scene, told all her friends who read it what the movie was about, who died, who might be dead, whether the lady found her son, whether she still hoped that he was alive, etc. So in essence, even though we did see the movie on dvd, it was a let down that we knew what was going to happen so I could not get as emotional or have that "what is going to happen next?" feeling that is what a watching a movie is all about. But the movie was so wonderful, I think maybe if I get enough money I will buy it or hope someone gives it to us for a Christmas or birthday present. | | | |

| | It gets me pretty upset because after you hear the spoilers and you go and watch the movie, it kinda takes all the fun out of the movie. This situation can also apply to books because I also hate when someone just blurts the end of a book or what happens in the book. It gets really annoying especially when the person does it on purpose just to screw ( referring to my friends here). | | | | | | |

| | What bugged me was that someone here on myLot told how she enjoyed seeing The Changling, and instead of saying it was based on a true story, that it was about a woman who got the wrong boy back, went and said who was the woman, who had taken the boy, what type of person he was, etc. what happened to her, etc. without leaving us to think that maybe Frank Nitti had found the boy and he was now a member of the mob, whether he was dead, whether he had been found by a farming couple and was on his way to California, whether the police would find the boy at the end, whether years later, he would knock on her door and say, "mother!" etc. Instead she practically gave away the whole plot. | | | |

| | I really hate it when someone tell me the movie plot if I haven't watch the movie yet especially when I am planning to watch the movie. It is so irritating because all the joy and excitement to watch the movie will be gone. | | | | | | |

| | I do not like it one bit. I do not mind when they give the general plot like what they give in the previes, but when they tell what happens at the end, and the conclusion, other then it is very sad, or very happy (cause I would have assumed that the lady looking for her son died before he could see her, or very happy that they were united.) but this member gave the whole plot away from the beginning to the end and the one I wanted to know about (the attempted escapes) she was silent about. | | | |

| | It would depend on how badly I wanted to see the movie in the first place or how interesting it sounded. Yes, maybe the initial thrill of it was spoiled, but since I will watch a good movie over and over again, I don't see it as much different than that. Was the discussion in an interest devoted to that movie? If so, then I supposed you could expect there to be discussions about the plot and what happened in the end. It would be hard to have a discussion about a movie without putting things in it about what happened in the movie. At the same time, there would be some point at which you would realize this was what the discussion was about so you would not have to continue reading it if you didn't want to know the rest. The Spoiler discussions I don't like are the ones that give too much spoiler info in the first line or two so that you can't avoid it even if you try to scan past it quickly. Leave the spoiler info further down in the discussion post so it doesn't show to those who don't want to see it. This happens too much on some of the TV show spoilers. I don't know really though how a discussion about a movie could have spoiler as part of the heading since that discussion is about that movie. I would think most people following that discussion would have seen the movie first so they would have something to talk about. | | | | | | |

| | If she had said "Spoiler!" if you do not want to know about the ending, do not read this discussion," but she did not. I think you are giving her excuses as if she did not realize what she was doing. I do not mind getting a general plot that she searched for her son, was tricked, and he may be alive but she does not know and I would have assumed that this was about partly through the movie. And she put it in such a way that the ending was obvious. She could have left out the part after the boys tried to escape the psycho killer and let us guess, but she did not. I mean I have seen the previews and previews are supposed to make you guess wrong. When I saw the Dvd, the ending was exactly what she said. YOu are supposed to keep some parts secret, and she did not. The trouble is that all I wanted to know, was it going to be a sad or a happy ending or draw your own conclusions. | | | |

| | That would be a good idea. She did not even give a warning. She just rambled on how much she enjoyed this movie Changling by Angela Jolie and since she loved the actress so much, just rambled. I could have done the same thing about a movie years ago by Gregory Peck , but i would not do that as he was one of my favorite actors. The trouble is if you like a certain actor, you forget and start giving away plots, etc. | | | |

| | It was a good movie, but one thing I love about a movie is the suspense and what is going to happen. I want to be able to cry and then when I find that the hero did not die, smile with relief. I have been to movies where I thought the child had died or had been killed, and then later on, was so happy that the child was alive. | | | |
