We received an Open House party invitation in the mail and we have NO idea who the person is who sent it!! I am to RSVP if we do not plan to attend. What would you do? Would you go? Would you RSVP? Would you call and find out how this person knows you, or just how would you handle this??

I would just forget the fact that i received some invitation. I will never go to such party's. It might be sent by someone who want to harm you. If it was sent by someone whom you know then i think they would definitely call you up.

Good point , I think I figured out who it was though, I just never knew their last name, so I think it was okay, but I did not go!

I don't think you should go. If you don't know who sent it, just rip it up and throw it out. People are so crazy these days and you can never be too careful. It could be some kind of scam, but that's just my take on it.

If I had no clue, couldn't even tell by the address they were a neighbor, nothing, I'd probably just toss it. My husband, on the other hand, would probably call and ask who they were.

I am a curious person. I would go just to find out who and why. It isn't like you have to stay. Aren't you curious? It could be advantageous. You just never know.

open house? Those are usually for house sells. Yeah I would go. Pretend like you're interested in the house, and get some free food, and drink. Hope they have pizza.

Thanks for your response. The label is a typed stick on one, and I do know someone with the same last name but not her first name. We aren't real close though, so I cant picture who this is.

If I were you and they gave you a number or something to RSVP to, then I would call them and ask who it was from. If you don't want to be obvious and maybe even a little rude, then maybe you could go on a fishing expidition, like asking them where it is, who else is going to be there and stuff. Or you could call all of your friends and see if any of them have received similar invitations because maybe they will have more information to share with you. Or you could just go to the open house and if there are people there that you know and it lookslike fun then you can stay, and if not then you could steal some food and go home.
