my step son birthday gift!

his bday gift - This is a new JVC camcorder. My husband bought this as a birthday gift for his son.

Last night after work my husband and I together with my step son & daughter we went to Best Buy to get and buy a birthday gift for my step son who is turning 18 this coming December 11. We looked around and we let him choose what gift he wanted to have. He decided to have the new JVC camcorder. He loves to water ski so this is just a right gift for him. It is also a waterproof camcorder.Do you think it is a nice birthday gift for him? What is your ideal gift for a son turning 18 years old? You reply is highly appreciated! Thank you!
