My grandparents and I have a special bond with each other, which brings us very close. Why do you love your grandparents?

I was fortunate to know my grandfather on my mom's side of the family and my dad's parents. My mom's father passed away when I was in high school but in his own way he did care about me and my siblings. I didn't get to know her mom though as she passed away a year before I was born. When we were younger, my grandpa would babysit us after school while my parents were at work and was very patient answering our questions about stuff he would watch on tv. He would ask about how our grades were and made sure we stayed in line lol. Now I have a much closer and loving bond with my dad's parents. They have been there for everything graduations to my wedding last year. They both made sure my siblings and I were doing ok and made sure we had enough. I get a lot of advice from them when it comes to cooking, marriage etc. I love them because they are just the best grandparents anyone could ask for.

I wasn't fortunate to know my grandfathers on both side. One passed away when I was four and the other came into my life when I was 10 but passed away when I was 12 and he lived in Chicago. I can say the my grandmothers have been my support system not only for me but for my mother too when we were going through a lot. My maw maw (mom's mom) moved in with us when my mom had divorced my dad and was going to school to receive her bachelors. I love her sooooo much because she kept me grounded and didn't sugercoat anything with me and for that I am truly grateful.

I have always been very close to one of my grandmothers. I love her very much and I am grateful to have her in my life. She has always been an important person in my life and we have spent a lot of time together. She has done a lot for me and she has helped me in many different ways. Now the roles have been turned around. she has become old now and her health is deteriorating, so now I am the one who is helping her. I am more than happy to help her and helping her is a chance for me to "pay back" some of the things she has done for me, and I would everything for her.

My Meemaw and I are always close and we always have been. She has been there for me no matter what I've done or what has been done to me. I've been injured a lot and she was always there. I'm her only granddaughter and that probably helps. But I'm her only grandchild who talks to her more than 3 or 4 times a year. In return, i have a best friend who would do anything for me and a family member that means the world to me.
