| Harddrive Cloning  | | | |  can someone please enlighten me on how to use a cloning app. i have acronis back up, the latest i think.i wwant to back up my windows xp and all the application in it so that whenever i want to, i can reformat the drive and just put the backup on the drive without installing the applications one at a time.

| |  It is very simple.
You can also do it by simply running windows PC Backup system in system tools menu.
There are two ways for this type of clonning.
Run a manual backup and select you windows drive and system state in the backup selection.
When you will restore it all files of xp will also restore.
Second way with automatic recovery tool.
This is very advance. By this backup you can restore you all files even during installing windows.
First files of windows will install and then files from this backup will restore during new installation of windows.
At the end you will find you system at the same setting you left on the backup date

| | Go into the system tools, and click on back up.
Click on the advance mode underlined while wizard open.
There will be three options display.Choose automatic system recovery.
Locate the hard drive you want to backup your files. and a floppy disk in which information about backup system state are kept.
At any crash of computer. insert windows xp disk and press F2 when option of automatic system recovery appeared. then insert the floppy disk. and enter.
All remaining process will be automatic. firstly your partition with windows will be format and remaining process will be occur like windows installation.
after copying windows files process of copying files to original location from backup will be start.

i thnk tht's posisble with acronis
i never used it but itried norton ghost n some another app i cant recall
its liek a mirror
no matter wht u put in there n then make a copy , it will come off het same way
i ddidnt really like it though
for me manual backups are better
