I lived in San Diego from 9/87- 12/90 while serving in the US Navy.. it was a wonderful place to live from age 18-21. Could not of asked for a more Happening place..

I was wondering if anyone is living in San Diego now who could fill me in as the changes which have been made since 1990 to San Diego in general because my Sister has told me that she visited within the last 5 years and said that there is so much growth that I would not recognize it..

I lived on Broadway in CHULA VISTA.. anyone familiar with chula vista or 32nd street Naval Station area???? I also lived a few blocks east of broadway in a beautiful new condo. I think on 3rd ave.. not sure... its been so long.:)

I have lived in San Diego since 1991. I am very familiar with the area you spoke of. Both San Diego, and Chula Vista have grown considerably since you've been here. In 1991, I lived in Imperial beach and rented a furnished one bedroom apartment, rent was $485. For my 1 bedroom in downtown now, its $800. Here's recent happenings... They have banned drinking on the beach. Chula Vista is trying to gain the right to have the Chargers there. If they still keep losing...they can have them!!! Ha, ha. The Gaslamp quarter has really grown, good quality food and bars are everywhere, and the hotels downtown are amazing. San Diego still has the same laidback "hometown" feel to it, that I'm sure you remember. Hope this was helpful.

elviscash,,, thank you very much for the info... I used to love going to mission beach and ocean beach.... I miss it.. I think I am going to visit in the near future and show my husband around he has never been.. besides I'm a Travel Agent online and own my own site.. so I can get some really good perks on those new Hotels and a fight and even write the whole trip off as a tax deduction at the end of the year..

if your interested my site is: www.yourtheretravel.com then just go to the planning page to search around for some great travels:)
