Observers say that dela Hoya's poor performance during the Dream Match against Manny Pacquiao last Dec. 6 was due to the fact that he had to lose weight in order to match Manny and also because of his age. Whatever the reason, Pacquiao simply dominated him.
But the good thing is, dela hoya retained his pride. He was not knocked out. Although he surrendered, but he will not leave boxing as being knocked out on the last fight. At least, his camp was able to preserve the legendary boxing golden boy.
Dela Hoya was simply all praises to Manny. he easily accepted defeat. Both are good fighters and they fought well. one was just better than the other.
dela hoya is already considering a new career. what would it be this time?

| |  hi spoiled.. i've watched GMa's coverage of 24/7 the pacquiao-dela hoya dream match. it was like dela hoya is really into something personal with manny pacquiao. i really thought that he will beat manny by TKO, but due manny's determination to win, of course he did it. i was dismayed with how the fight goes. dela hoya didn't show anything that he is saying during his previous interviews. i was kinda thinking that manny will be beateb because dela hoya is much bigger and heavier. experience wise, he is also more experienced.
let's congratulate manny pacquiao for winning!! mabuhay ka pacman..

| |  at first i thought that PACMAN will lose this fight because he is smaller compare to Oscar's 5'10 HEIGHT . i thought it was an ambush for Manny but we forgot to measure his mindset , his heart, He supported by millions of Filipinos and countless others abroad and praying for his victory. Pacquiao's fist is like a punching machine, he lost because of pacquiao's speed of his fist. although Oscar may have lost but the amount of money he made from all of his sponsors made him winner in so many ways.

| |  I don't watch boxing, but yesterday on Sportscenter which airs on ESPN, I watched a piece they did of Manny. Did you happen to see it? Of course you know where he came from, and I had no idea. It is amazing how much he overcame, and all the things he is trying to do for the people in the Philippines who are less fortunate. He is not only a good boxer, but an amazing human being.

| |  It is really a good thing that Oscar De la Hoya did not kiss the ground. Even Manny Pacquiao had pity on him and that is why Coach Freddie Roach told Manny to stop carrying Oscar and finish him. His face was severely battered and was rushed to the hospital for precautionary purposes. He was not beaten that badly throughout his boxing career even when he was stopped twice in his career. Hope he thinks about his future and retire rather than have more damage.

| |  I am also happy that Manny Pacquiao made it again this time with boxing legend Oscar Delahoya, months before, I had this great fear of manny's losing the fight because of delahoya's height, strength and record in the boxing history. But the result can be compared to David and Goliath. I read an interview of Delahoya's trainer/coach that he decided to throw a white flag, indicating his ward's surrender, after noticing Delahoya's losing strength and failure to counter attack manny.
The trainer even asked delahoya if he was okay and when his ward just keep on knodding he knew something is wrong, so he decided to end the fight to save face on delahoya and preserved his legendary image. Well, that's what I read from the website of inquirer newspaper
