Do you eat lobster or crab |
|
Went to dinner last night with my husband, I ordered crab legs and shrimp, he ordered shrimp and steak.
He refuses to even try crab or lobster because they are 'too much work'. I love both of them and the work involved in eating them gives me time to savor the flavor and enjoy my food.
So do you avoid eating a food because it is too much work or is the taste worth the work to you? How do crab and lobster rank on your list of foods?

2. tamarafireheart (12640) | 1 year ago | Hi Deb_place,
We don't go out to eat, I just cook all the time and if I want to eat crab and lobster which I love very much, I just cook it myself and make a pig of myself and don't have to be embarass in front of people, I enjoy eating at home.

Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | So you don't mind the work either. I have never cooked crab and home and lobster only once...it is something I should consider...the dinner was very costly.

3. marcialoyd (1072) | 1 year ago | I absolutely love crab legs. They are worth the work to me. I've never had a whole lobster but I have had a lobster tail and that is delicious as well. The shrimp is heavenly to. I guess you could say I just love sea food all the way around. lol.

Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | Absolutely...I will dip a few pieces in butter but for the most part I eat it plain. I think the shell is part of the experience.
Do you like fish too?

4. itsmefaith (2236) | 1 year ago | I love crab, but I don't think I have ever eaten it in the form of crab legs. It does seem a lot of effort, and although I'd try it if offered. I doubt I'd order it that way. I love it in things, though; crab cakes, salad, etc.
I don't like lobster at all. Work or not, I won't eat it. it smells awful to me, and I can't get past that.

Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | I never have thought of lobster as smelling bad.
I really don't like crab cakes...or maybe it is the ingredients in them. But I do love it in salad as well.
Love scampi but I am not a fish eater.

itsmefaith (2236) | 1 year ago | I didn't used to like fish either, but in the last year I have developed a taste for some of it. I like salmon and had some talapia the other day that was pretty good.

Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | Not a fish lover and you are right - oysters, mussels and octopus are really high on my gross list.

7. SuzyQ12 (1893) | 1 year ago | I have ate both. I usually don't buy them or fix them at home. I've always been in a restuarant while eating these. I don't buy them, because they are really expensive and right now we don't have it to splurge. I think a little extra work is good while eating sometimes it does help you to savor the taste more. I like lobster more than crab, although both are really good.

Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | We normally don't go out and eat like that either but it was a difficult day for us.
I can definitely agree with not having money to splurge

9. LuvBr0wn13s (657) | 1 year ago | That is so unfortunate! He is missing out on a real treat for his palate because of a little laziness? I remember as a child being allowed to sample crab, but my parents wouldn't really let me and my siblings eat any great amounts of it until we learned how to shell and get to the meat safely (or reasonabley so) ourselves. i like lobster too. for each food I do have to be in the mood to do the work, but I must say that the taste is well worth the effort.
| |
| |
|
|
Debs_place (6758) | 1 year ago | that is exactly the way I feel, you have time to savor the taste...you sit there and enjoy. A steak is gone in a few minutes...the time to eat the shelled food makes the experience last much longer.
