Ok I have been in a discussion with a couple friends. one says It goes up the days after thanksgiving and stays up until new years eves (she says it's bad luck to leave it up after new years) another says it goes up the 1st of dec and stays up until Jan 6th (the twelve days of christmas) and yet a thrid says The tree goes up Christmas Eve, and stays up until Jan 6th (another thought on the 12 days of christmas.) We put the tree up in early dec (no set date, it is when the mood hits) But ALWAYS take it down the day after Christmas because I had a son born on 12/27 and did't want him to miss out by having his birthday over shadowed by Christmas! This year he will be 18 so I may leave it up a bit longer, as we will be doing his birhday at an0tehr location... What do you do?

We always put up our tree around thankgiving usually after. Then we like to leave it up a good bit. We don't take it down till after the new year.

well, here in canada, our thanksgiving is in early october, so that is just a wee bit too long! (ok for stores, but not for me!!) seriously, we still havent decided if we want to get a real tree or put up our fake one this year, so we arent sure. as for take down, its usually the first weekend after the new year (there abouts!)
