All the discussions I have read today about auto accidents reminded me of something that happened when I was in college.
My sister had a boyfriend, Steve, who had a younger sister. She was 16 and had just gotten her driver's license. She wasn't far from my parents home when she got in an accident. Being a new driver and very young and inexperienced, she just didn't know how to react when the other driver started yelling at her and telling her that it was her fault.
Fortunately a woman had seen the accident and turned around and came back. She had seen that it was the other driver's fault and told him so and that don't he dare take advantage of the girl this way, that she would be perfectly willing to testify that it was NOT her fault if she had to.
Thank goodness for people like that and shame on that man! Have you ever had an experience like this?

In Lexington KY I was christmas shopping 2 years ago with my boyfriend. We were following a lextran bus, which I didn't expect to stop in the middle of the street... I am from a small town... you have warning if a bus is going to stop here and it's a school bus here... anyway, I had to slam my brakes to keep from hitting the bus and was able to stop, since I wasn't right on it's butt, but the lady behind me was yakking on her cellphone and obviously not paying attention to the traffic, she rear ended us, then the lady behind her, who was also yakking on a cell phone rear ended her... then the both get out and yell at me... ok.. I called the cops, but my car was already beat up, so I couldn't prove what damage had been done.... wouldn't you know that i was the only one with insurance too and they were both from KY where it is state law to have insurance on your vehicle..... Talk about mad! I was fuming.... I didn't push it though, I just left after the cop told me that I could.... I hate it when you get drivers that are clearly doing things wrong and they get into an accident or cause one and then they want to blame everyone but themselves.......

Yeah no kidding. I was in a rear ender in 2003. My husband stopped in time. The car behind stopped in time. The one behind them did not. I found out later that I had a disc injury from it. But at least nobody was a jerk about it and the guys who were at fault admitted it and were very, very sorry. Couple of soldiers who were on their way to be deployed, so it was hard to be mad at them.
