Humans are a bundle of ambitions and desires. They wish to have money, power and luxury in life. Also wishes to command others by all these means. So, human ambitions have no limit. During my childhood my ambitions was to be a doctor. My choice was not motivated by a desire to make money. A good doctor earns a good income. Many rich people can help the poor by giving money. But only a doctor can bring relief to the sick, the aged and poor. But as time and age passed my ambitions changes I became not too interested in that field and also my studies were also went down. The main thing I hope one need to success the ambitions is hard work and dedication. May be this is where everyone falls to full fill the ambitions even me. Other part is the talent that is the inborn talent which also matters more. The capacity of a person and the interest he is in. As one’s ambition is to be a pilot but he is interested in painting which I hope is one of the inborn talents. Hence I feel ambitions vary according to age, interests and time and those who are able to fulfil their ambitions are really to be appreciated. It also depends one efficiently and one’s ability.

To a certain extent i have to agree with your point of view. However, i belive that ambition and desires are tributary to each person's system of values. In other words, your inherited/educated values trigger a certain level for desires and ambition. The social system of values also plays an important role (look for instance at the social status of the woman during Middle Ages - most of them had no ambitions because the society prohibited their ascension by default.) Ambitions can motivate one to be successful in life, but they aren't the only variable in this equation of success.

Hard work and dedication is definitely the key to success. Ambitions are nothing if a person is not ready to give a lot of efforts and hard work in achieving the ambitions and goals that one has stated. Motivation is also a keyword for success. If a person has good motivation, for example, to work- then he will work even if the salary is low. For example, his motivation might be: to learn new skills, or to get the first job experience, or to help the company to break through the difficulties.

not everyone is motivated by making money, most of the people in the huge fields of called helping professions, from doctors, to teachers, to counsellors, and social workers are motivated by helping people. I am a counsellor, and I enjoy being just that.

Hello Shamrack. I quite agree with you that it is motivation that drives us to work hard towards the destination of success in life. I am so experienced with my motivation when I made up my mind to relocate my working place from one to the other, where I get much higher salary than the previous working unit or place. Without my ambitious motivation, I would not make it a success. So it is the same with similar things. Thank you for the discussion, friend.

I used to think that I would amount to something great in this life. Now, I realize that is is a lot more important to do little things that benefit other people than to be a great man in your own mind. Cheers!!

I think it depends on how much you desire and how much effort you exert to reach your ambitions. Just dreaming without doing still achieves nothing.
