well, as many of you may or may not know,
i live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
it's not unusual to have many, many days of 100 degrees or more during the summer.
heck just last week we were in the 60's.
well right now it's SNOWING right outside my window, and no i don't live in the mountains, i live a couple of miles from The Strip.
we get snow down here in the valley every couple of years.
boy, it's really coming down......kinda reminds me of Minnesota where i spent 13 years.......of course this won't stick......for very long anyways.
but i'm sure it will wreak havoc with the roadways.
drivers around here act like it's Armageddon when it drizzles.
so how's the weather in your neck of the woods???
*ooooh boy.....i can't wait to here from all the people "down under" telling me how hot it is.....i'll talk to you guys in the summer*
just kidding.....love all you Aussies...........and your koalas.

well welcome from "the bay" rjbass.
yeah, this cold front just moved in, so i'm sure it'll still be here tomorrow.
i remember going to San Francisco when i was just a cub, and all it did was rain and fog.......but whatcha gonna do?
anyways, you say business, but i hope you still find time for some monkey business........and watch out for bears.

I'm an Aussie sconibear but there will be no tales of blistering heat from me I'm afraid as I am living in Cairo. I honestly had NO idea that it snowed in Las Vegas! I am having enough trouble dealing with temperatures from 10 - 15 (Celsius) at night here in Egypt at the moment, so I am not sure how I would cope with even colder weather. I have never enjoyed the cold. Here it is getting cooler by the day and this will continue until March next year. Still no rain though which is disappointing.

thankfully, winter doesn't last too long around here and it will be warm again before we know it.
Cairo must be pretty interesting, have you moved there or are you just visiting?
anyways, hope you stay warm.

Hey sconi! Wow! It's snowing in Las Vegas! I live in NY and
it's 6o degrees here today and we haven't had any snow yet!
It had gotten really cold for awhile like it's supposed to
be this time of year and still we didn't have any snow!
Now it's supposed to drop to 40 and they say it's supposed
to snow a little! I have no idea what's hapening here! And
you are getting snow! This global warming thing is really
throwing the weather off completely! Next think my Mom will
tell me she's getting snow in Florida!

yeah, looks like most of the country is going to get hit by this cold front that hit us.
we get snow here every couple of years but it doesn't hang around very long.
long enough for people to make a snowman or 2, make the evening news, and then it's gone by the next day.
i guess as long as we're having fun.
by the way.....love the hat, glad you figured it out.

Nah not where I am in Victoria! It is cold and has been raining cats & dogs for days now and the weather forecast for the rest of the week is showing more rain on the way not that I am complaining about this as we are in a really bad drought and so we need it really bad!
But if you live in Queensland then that would be a different story altogether as it is always hot up there! I just came back from spending 2 weeks holiday's up there last week and it was very hot and we were in the pool everyday and even though when we were there they have a few huge Thunder (love thunder storms and have missed getting them in Victoria) and it rain very hard and for hours too but the temp didn't drop and it was still very hot and sticky but if that was Victoria where I live when we get a huge storm the temp drops really quickly and you are like oh boy what a relief from the heat! But not in Queensland it stays hot.
But we are heading into our summer season over here now so yes t should stay to heating up very soon and getting very hot and then yeah the A/con will be running
And yeah I too thought that Las Vegas was always hot being out in the dessert and all
never thought that it would snow there

we're always in a drought..........who would of thunk to build a city in the middle of the desert???
yeah, we get snow down here every so often, but it doesn't hang around.
if you see any of them koala bears, tell them cousin sconi said "hey".
have a happy summer msmell.......BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

I guess that was a lovely weather. I like to be in a snowy area once. It is my dream from the childhood to be in a hilly area where the snow is falling and I'm playing football, cricket with my friends. Anyways, enjoy your lovely weather.

I live in Canada, which means it can be shorts weather one day and parka weather the next. As for Las Vegas, I am one of the stupid people who assumed LV was always warm. I first went on vacation there in November a few years back and only brought summer clothes. It was FREEZING, about 45F (to use American thermostat speak). I had to buy a coat, and barely ventured outside. When I went to Vegas one August, I assumed it would be HOT, but I didn't expect the impact of hot and DRY. I love hot weather but we couldn't walk a block without our entire body drying out like parchment. Still, beats the crap out of snow and ice and sleet and dark, dark, hideous weather from about November to May. ;)

yeah, it took a while for me to get used to when i first moved here.
i would go somewhere in shorts during the day, and be regretting it when the sun went down.
as for the summer months................that's why God gave us air conditioning and swimming pools.
