Is Halo 3 One Of The Best Videogames In The History?  

The game is very enjoyable. The NPC (non-player characters) are varied and well-voice acted. The weapons have been vamped up a little. Some old favourites are there (I personally love the target-seeking needler) and some cracking new BFGs have been added (eg you can rip off turrets & carry them around and there is also a Gravity Hammer which sees off pretty much anything with one close-range swipe).

Graphic are Lovely - no need to say more. Clear as crystal on a good screen. Surprising in much the same way that they were on the original game, even allowing for our new expectations, and with added bells and whistles! There are still the sneaky back ways that let you creep up on the enemy and no issues with lag at all. Very immersive play as the arenas are interesting and large-scale.

Play-ability: excellent. I agree with the comments elsewhere that Normal is for newbies and Heroic for old-timers. I like a reasonable game that I can pelt through a level or so in a hour of an evening and Normal is perfect for that. My husband likes a challenge and Herioc certainly provides one. We have yet to sample Legendary, but even the most hard-core of gamers will find a level to suit their tenacity.

Another excellent feature of this game is that 'save and quit' puts you back to the last checkpoint (which occur regularly in the game). NOT back to the beginning of the level. This means it is great for people who have to get up from their games from time to time - eg to eat with the family. You can rejoin where you were without having to lose hours of gameplay.

I rarely give great marks for games but this is an exception :)

It's one of the best videogames but there are so many out there like the resident evil series, the gran turismo series etc and God final fantasy. These are few but exceptional I'd say halo 3 is up there but neon impossible to say which comes out on top

Halo 3 was excellent, but as far as making it into the history books as the best videogame, I think it might not specifically be considered an infuential game or anything.

The Halo series will certainly be forever considered a landmark series, but more than likely, Halo 3 won't get picked out as being MORE influential than part 1 or 2.

Yes, Halo 3 is a better game in my opinion, but it's not earth-shatteringly different from what's already out there (because Halo 1 and 2 are already out there). It was merely a continuation of an existing storyline, using an updated, but similar game engine. Unless you consider the theater stuff. That alone might forever keep it on the map as an influential game, but I still think it will be referred to as parr of an influential series instead.

That's the problem with making a great series; sequels are never as new as the original, so people already know what to expect. If Bungie had made a new game, rather than more Halo, then it would probably get a lot more recognition, and less negative reviews from folks that somehow expected Halo 3 to do their laundry for them (complaining that features aren't beyond perfect). I recognize that Halo's a successful brand, but even saying "by the creators/ makers of Halo" is going to guarantee sales these days.

The multiplayer is definatly the best i have played, especially online. The single player is good, but not near the best. For example bioshock has an awesome single player with a great storyline.

halo is definetly the most popular xbox 360 game but maybe there is another one that is on another system. Maybe Halo 3 ODST will be. (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper)I thimk this because of all the hyp about it on www.bungie.net

It's definitely the biggest game that xbox has ever had and I don't think that will change anytime soon. It will be hard for them to improve vastly from halo 3 but it can be done. It is so far my favorite game for all time, but it will take more time to see if it's the best game ever. It is definitely the best multiplayer game I have ever seen or played, and I think it will stay that way unless modern warfare 2's multiplayer is improved.

In my opinion, it's a very good game. I like both campaign and online play, but I prefer online play, because once your over with the campaign, it's not as fun to do it again and again. I think online play is why most of the people buy this game anyway. It has a lot of pretty cool maps, a good variety of weapons, exellent graphics and the campaign is really cool. The scenery, in the campaign, are really varied, you're not always playing on the same landscapes, sometimes it's in snow mountains, sometimes inside a building or even in a desert. There's also a good variety of monster and a pretty good story behind the game.

I'm not sure if it's one of the best game in the history, but I'm sure it's one of the best right now.
