We have silly laws in Texas like you can't walk down the street with wire cutters in your pocket (because people used to cut barbwire and let their cattle into farmer's fields.) And that you have to wave a lantern before you can drive a motor car over a bridge at night so not to scare the horses - yeah...right.

I remember Mom telling me how margarine used to be called imitation butter. They also used to have dye packs to add to real butter so it didn't look so much like lard. The butter didn't come already colored - you had to do it yourself at home. I can't think of any laws that are peculiar here in Jersey, although there is the fact that driver's ed is required to graduate high school, but not required to get a driver's license. I had my license by the time I got driver's ed.

I couldn't read it either. I really was interested too, because Missouri is where I live. I might just be repeating this law, but I know a few laws that are more county specific. In one country, it is ilegal for 3 or more people not all related to live in the same home (I guess to cut down on living together with children before being married) in another county it is ilegal to spit on the sidewalk! And in one county it is still punishable by a good ol fashioned hangin if you steal your neighbor's horse! LoL. Hehe, but I don't think they have ever followed through on that one in recent years. It's just still in the lawbooks. Hehe.
