It has lots of improvements from the previous models but still affordable
If you're planning to buy sony alpha, i recommend not to buy the previous models

| | Oh.. and to answer your question, I know several pro photographers. They all use multiple cameras depending on what they need to do. One uses 2 really big and really expensive Nikons, and another uses an Nikon with a Canon as a backup. And another (artistic one) uses 2 Sony's.
