Have you heard that the largest snowman ever built was built this year... and it so happens that this snowman is actually a woman. She stands 122 feet tall. Now that is a lot of snow. Check out these photos http://www.usatoday.com/weather/news/2008-02-29-maine-snowwoman_N.htm?csp=34

Wow! That is absolutely amazing. Everyone who worked on it should be very proud. I bet it gets a lot of attention, which will be great for nearby businesses. I'd go see it if I lived anywhere near it.

I just started a discussion on the same town and back in 1999 they had built a snowman. One of my friends had sent me pictures in my email so I decided that would be really cool to post here. After I posted it I saw at the bottom that there was a posting of a snowwomen in the same town in 2008. Pretty cool and think about how much snow that place must get to build a snow man that tall.

much of the snow was man made... what i wonder is how they prevent flooding when the thing melts.

That is really amazing. You never know what people are going to do with a creative mind and I suspect a lot of time on their hands. I am just amazed at the person that even dreamed up the idea to make a snowman that is 122 feet tall. Not only am I amazed by the idea, but I am surprised that they were able to accomplish their dream. I guess it goes to show what you can do with a bit of snow!

Isn't it crazy. IT took several engineers, volunteers, school children, and a giant crane to get her up.
