Most people do not report to work on Christmas day. Even the malls here in US are close, restaurants and other establishments. I am not sure in some other countries if workers are force to report to work on Christmas. I don't hear it yet unless they are self employed. Most people here now are enjoying with family and friends during Christmas day.

hello there Bebs, thanks for sharing. Since outsourcing jobs are routed here in our country most outsourcing companies are open during most of the holidays so employees are required to go to work. though they are receiving less calls. LOL. Merry Christmas!!!

Well, right now I am completely free. No work to do until the new year. I am really happy that this is the situation. Before, I used to work with our local emergency medical services. For 13 years I have worked with the unit and of course for the 13 years Its either I cannot spend Christmas or New Year with my family considering that I am on duty. Now that I have resigned and have started my own work, I have all the time for my family and friends. It is really great to be with your love ones on special occasions like this.

Today, I am happy to say that I am at home and I celebrated Christmas with my family. School paused for a while since yesterday so I have almost 2 weeks vacation as school time will resume on January 5th. I am sad for those who needed to work on Christmas day, like my Uncle, because he has limited time to celebrate with his family. I know that if I am in his place, I will feel sad and lonely thinking about my family at home celebrating a special day without me.

Great to hear that you have along vacation for class. Indeed you uncle would like to spend more with his family if only he has a choice.

Thankfully I do not have to work on Christmas day. I used to work at a restaurant for 10 years and we were required to work every single holiday or special occasion. Those were the busiest days of the restaurant. It really sucked. My family always got together on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and for 10 years I had to skip it. I finally got sick of it and quit.
