I have just read that Rumsfeld may be tried for war crimes. Do you think it will happen?

I hope they get "W" too. What these people have done and tried to do to our civil rights is just not right. I never would have believed I'd live in a country that condoned torture.

It would be great to see it happen, but it probably will not.
He still has the power of the brotherhood behind him.
We must remember that not only his direct war crimes in Iraq are concerned, but also his involvement in the incident which started it all - namely 9/11.
trying him and finding him guilty would go a long war to ending war on our planet, something which I think most of us dream of.

Could you please ellaborate on what has been done to your civil rights? Nothing about your civil rights has changed, the constitution is upheld. If your rights were being violated, you can be sure the vastly unpopular Bush wouldn't be able to do anything.
These charges are bogus. Nothing is going to result from them. They are just a slap in the face, and insult. It can't possibly do any damage. (I can't open the link w/out membership, so I'm thinking you mean the charges out of Germany).

There has been a case filed in Germany, however, I do not anticipate it actually going to trial. Pinpointing Rumsfeld for war crimes is going to be extremely hard. There is also a great jurisdiction question as the German nation was not even involved in the coalition.
