Our Garmin took us on "The Trail"  |

|  This past weekend, we went to Colonial Williamsburg, it's about a 3 1/2 hour drive for us. We weren't exactly sure where we were going so of course we took the Garmin to lead us.
Now, we drive most of the way without any help from the Garmin, but after a while we were at it's mercy. When it said to turn, we had to have faith that we were headed in the right direction. Well, at one point it said "Turn left onto the trail" and we all kinda freaked a bit. We weren't sure exactly what "the trail" was and we were hoping to not be driving down some dilapitated dirt road. As we were driving, I did double check and make sure we had the "No off road" part checked.
As it turned out, the name of the street was "The Trail". We were so relieved - even though it was a back road, it was still a real road!

| |  Heehee, I can see how you'd be worried about The Trail, reinydawn!
I have actually been on some trails with my GPS! I've since made some adjustments to just how short a short cut I want!

| |  That is a true illustration of faith. Wow. People sure do name streets funny names. I found a picture we have that runs by a cemetery. The street was called Farewell Lane.

| |  My sister relies on her Garmin no matter where she goes. She cannot find her way out of a paper bag with both ends opened. She is so bad and needs the garmin. The problem is she turns to early instead of waiting to get to the right corner she turns at the one before it.

| | Oh, that happens to us ALL the time! In Vegas we turned to early and we heard "recalculating" for like 20 minutes as we tried to get out of where we were. It was way too much fun.
All in all, though, it does get us where we're going and it's always an adventure! | | | |

| | We where also. It can be scary when the Garmin tells you to turn left on to a one way street going the wrong way. That happened to a friend of mine a few weeks ago. I am glad he is still alive to tell us about it.
He is lucky no one was coming the correct way. | | | |

| |  Glad your Garmin took you down a real road and not onto some beaten path wrong road. I've never used one of those type of things before. But I've heard people talk about how they take you through places you never knew would take you to get to where you needed to go, such as cutting through parking lots and such.

| | We mostly bought it for our trip on the West Coast. We were going to be driving from California to Vegas to Salt Lake to Vegas. I really didn't want to worry about mapquesting it and getting totally lost somewhere where I'd never been. We tried it out on a trip we knew well, right after we got it. It told us to go a way we normally don't go but we followed what it said so we knew if we could trust it when we DIDN'T know where we were going.
