As far as I know, there is no one laptop whose screen is as wide as 17 inch. Instead, 14 inch screen is the general size of the laptop computer. Are you talking about a desktop computer? 17 inch screen has been very common nowadays, and what's more, it is cheaper. If your mom has the basic requirement for the width of screen, I recommend you to buy a desktop computer.

Hi mklaw!! well i dont really know where you like but for this days the stores put several discounts! and you can get a very nice computer for your mommy and for a very good price, you dont really tell us what amount of money you have to spend in the laptop but i think its like $500-$800 dollars and for that amount or something hundred dollars more you will get a nice computer for your mom. Try it to see computers at best buy or amazon they sell nice computers, and for good prices...

I have search in the internet about 17 inches laptop and there were really expensive. In the amazon.com I found 17 " laptop worth $899 to $1000 and it was really expensive. You have mentioned about seeing 17" laptop in your place and it really cost expensive. But wait, I have found something in the amazon.co.uk by searching in google about " 17 inches laptop intel". It has Intel Pentium Dual Core, 2GB RAM with Vista Home Basic, 120 GB. Wow really, the RAM is 4 times faster than my RAM and it only cost 369.99 pounds which is about $532. If you can find a brand like this in your country in USA then you would really like this price.
