The only resolution I ever kept

I used to make New Years resolutions every year. I had every intention of keeping up with them, and usually did for a while. Then I decided that I wasn't going to make any more. So, the last resolution I made was many years ago and it was to never make another New Years resolution. If I want to change something in my life, I do it then, I don't wait for the beginning of a new year.
Do you make resolutions? If you do, do you keep them?

i dont typically make any new years resolutions because every birthday and other milestones, you can choose to make a resolution, not just new years. but this year i have decided to totally be myself, no matter how weird people think i am or different...i truly want to show the artist side of me this year.

That's awesome! We should all just be ourselves for our own sakes :)

I set goals for the new year. Then I break the big goals down into small, easier to reach goals. As I complete one of the small goals, I cross it off the list. I to don't necessarily start on New Year's day. I just say "this is what I want to accomplish in 2009". I think the word resolution has a connotation of failure, as most people do not keep their New Year's resolutions. It is more positive to set goals.

Hey reiny! I'm with you! I don't make any resolutions anymore
either! I decided a long time ago that there was not point
for me to either. If I want to do something I am going to
do it no matter what. There is no reason for me to have to
make a resolution just because it is a New Year! I don't
want to be forced to make a resolution that I might not want
to make and then break!

Ya know, that's pretty much what would happen too. I'd think I HAD to make a resolution so it would be half-hearted and not last long. It seems I do better to just change as I see necessary and not wait for any specific time.
