Do you use a car seat carrier for your dog?

No, I don't use car seat carrier for my dog. In my opinion, it's better not to use car seat for my dog. She enjoys moving from the back seat to the front seat. I don't really like tying my dog to make her stay in one place. She enjoys even checking out the windows of the car.:)

If we're going for a short ride, I let them stay loose in the truck. I put up the back seats so that they can move around on a flat surface and not have to worry that they'll fall off the seat. If it's a longer ride, I have a harness that the you can loop the seat belt through. They can still move around a little, but not very much and I know they enjoy it much more when they are not tied down.

With one of my dogs, I have to harness them in the seatbelt. They are just too curious and keep trying to get in my lap while I am driving, and that's not safe. If a dog is well behaved enough and they don't intefere with your driving at all, then I see no need for them to have to be harnessed. But if a dog has to move around too much and gets in your way, then I think its best to harness them.

I wasn't aware that they made a carrier car seat for dogs. I think this is an excellent idea. A couple of weeks ago, I was dog sitting for my sister and took her dog with me. The dog was all over the front of my truck. I couldn't believe how she went from one side to the next looking out the windows. I guess she doesn't ride in vehicles too often.

She was so tiny I was afraid I was going to throw her through the air when I hit the brakes or went around a corner, so I would grab a hold of her. I would also say "Hold On", hoping that she would eventually learn what those words meant. It would have been great to have had a carrier that I could have buckled in for her.
