Microsoft files a patent to make us pay  

I have heard that they are working toward going back to charging for internet time used, but hadn't heard of this, but then not surprised. Those that are rich are only rich at theri customers expense. And how many times can you update a software program? Vista was a dude, ME was a dude and 2000 was a dude...so I heard. So three times a charm, they figured out that they aren't that great on updating their program,so let's change course and just charge for the good ones! Rather simple in intelligence for such a high and mighty company, but most of the time, the simple is the most lucrative! Why? caus the simple is what most use as that is what they understand best!

Is it right? Considering Microsoft has the hugest portion of operating systems, every PC ever bought practically has MS something on it, so as they say "He who has the gold, makes the rules" and if htey want to charge they can. It's their product. Will it cut down on those buying PC's or using the internet? Nope. This world is consumed with internet - hook, line and sinker. most can't do without it so they will have to pay for it... and then just pass the expense on down the line to their customers ... like those of of on Mylot. If it is like a montly fee - will you stop using your PC or pay the monthly fee?

Only thing that might happen, is that if there is another OS company like MS - many will start going there and buying there if they don't charge.. I dont' know about Apple or Mac - do they even use MS? But then will come a program that someone will make to do what MS does and it can be bought at the store for few hundred bucks nad installed and you will have the same as MS.

It will be a sad day if this happens. But then there could be a court injunction thing about it - maybe it is only for new users, you know if you buy a PC after a certain date you have to pay for it, but those with the system prior, don't but then they will not get updates and such. Since MS dominates the world in the OS area, I would think the government would do something to keep MS from controling the world!

Its the first that I am seeing this but I have always believed that microsoft is one big extortion.The fact that we have to pay for every new operating system when they are all upgrades of previuos Operating systems.In addition the way they make their operating system proprietary and often excludes all other products designed by competitors.Great discussion by the way.
