Has a soccer ball ever hit you in the face?  |

|  A very embarrassing and somewhat frustrating thing that can happen yes. Once, back when I was in middle school my dad took me to the park to practice my head butts with the soccer ball. It was a sunny clear day, and he was drop kicking the ball high up, goalie style. One particularly kick I remember, I couldn't see the ball because the sun was in my eyes. I was squinting with my hand trying to shade my view. But, before I knew it was too late. The ball came full force and hit me in the nose. I remember it hurt so bad! my nose didn't bleed but it certainly made my eyes water. has that ever happened to you?

| |  That should hurt. I used to play netball when I was in prep school (a sort of private primary school, and I got hit by the ball so many times by my coach. He was so tough and was always screaming at us. The oldest one on the team was 10 too. He never cared where he threw the ball. We were just supposed to catch it. The result? Being battered in all manner of places on your body with the thing, which sometimes fell in dirty water after the rain fell. Gross.

| | Heh yeah it did. Oh wow that sounds monstrous! And kind of yucky. That has happened to me while playing hacky sack as well. The one I always use is about 4 or 5 years worn, and has fallen in all sorts of dirty places. Sometimes it will hit us in the face. yuck =] | | | |

| |  It happens once on me. The ball hit directly onto my face when my friend try to pass the ball and I was unable to dodge it. Your head will spinning for a while and you can feel you had broke your nose but it actually didn't. I remember its hard to get up when you're hit.

| | haha, i had been hit at least 3 times if i am not wrong. each time it was painful as i took the full blow of the kick in my face and at my nose which was extremely painful. i was stunned for a while when it hit me and i thought i would die due to broken nose. It was really painful and since then, i would always learn to protect myself with my hand when i went in for a tackle. | | | | | | |

| |  your not alone :D. for me it's like thousands times a ball hit on my face! (LOL) haha not that much actually, but it happened quite often. the worse is when i try to block a pass with my body, but accidentally the ball hit my face in full speed! hoho.. that's make me laying on the field for a couple of minutes. and not only in soccer/football, but also in volley ball and even worse, basket ball! it's hurt much more than soccer ball.

| |  Ack i've been hit by a football more times than i can remember.
As a tall defender i frequently got clumped by freekicks which were intended for the top corner. I remember jumping to block and the ball came lower than i expected ... alot lower ... that certainly made my eyes water ;)
Having said that i also had a pretty fierce free-kick myself and recall hitting one from outside the box which broke the crossbar..
I later took a second and the wall actually moved in anticipation haha
