Do good running shoes really make a difference??  

i don,t think so i got a pair and i still am to lazy to run. lol

"Running shoes" are made to withstand the impact of running. They reduce the stress on your knees, ankles and back as well as support your feet. They are also, usually, really light weight and flexible.

The problem I have always had with running shoes is that the majority of the support and shock resistance is in the heel of the shoe and I run on the balls of my feet. My heels touch the ground, but that's about it.

Also, you should consider where you are running. I have terrible shin splints so since I make a great deal of effort to not run on concrete or pavement, running shoes with impact resistance aren't as important to me as just wearing something comfortable. If you are running on asphalt or sidewalks, look into running shoes.

I am not a frequent runner but I have heard from a friend of mine who runs very often. The build of a pair of running shoe and a pair of tennis shoe is totally different. Running shoes are generally lighter, uses material that is comfortable and allows airflows. The cushion aims to provide support and the base absorbs the impact on contact with every step. This reduces stress to the ankles and knees. Tennis shoes on the other hand have to be built to prove more support to the ankle and tracks to inprove grip. Tennis is a sport that requires players to sprint, brake and change direction in a moments notice. So the athelete is not running in a forward motion.

I think you may want to consult a specialist on the differences in specific details. I have tried Asics and it is a good brand that specialized in producing running shoes.
