tea cup poodles |

| I'm thinking about some point in the future to acquire a teacup poodle, but i'd like to find out some information first. Is there someplace I should start my research, a book or website? | | | | | |

| | I'd look for information on the web and try to find a site (through AKC or other dog organization) where you can communicate with people who own them and find out their personal experiences. It's a big responsibility and I know for a fact that teacup dogs are very delicate and cannot be left alone for long periods like larger breeds. Good luck to you! | | | | | | |

| | I have two miniature poodles. In my home country we have standard, miniature and toy poodles. In the USA the tea cup poodle is quite popular. I would suggest you contact the American Kennel Club and search of the Internet for tea cup poodle breeders. Good luck finding out some information. | | | | | | |

| | You can do both. I would suggest reading online first, but than it is better to do a deeper research by buying specialised breed books about poodles. Do a google search and I am sure you will find many links that provdie you informaion about this breed. I have provided you with the following sites. http://www.teacuppoodles.net/ http://teacuppoodles.com/... I would also seek breeders whose experience is invaluable. They can give you a lot of information and tips about the breed that you will never read in books. | | | | | | |

| | First off, there is no such breed as a teacup poodle, and any breeder that claims to be breeding them is not someone I would recommend buying a puppy from. The so-called 'teacup' varieties of all small breeds are dogs sometimes bred to be smaller than normal (which almost always means health is sacrificed, and good temperaments often are, too) and always commanding a higher than normal price. It's basically just people cashing in on the "Small Dogs are Best" trend. If you want a small poodle, then you are looking for the Toy Poodle. I would second the suggestion that you contact the American Kennel Club (AKC) for information on Toy Poodle breeders in your area. Then contact the breeders. A good breeder should be able to answer all your questions about the breed, and their dogs, as well as having up to date health clearances for their breeding stock. My personal experience with Toy Poodles is that they are funny little dogs, very playful, extremely smart and easy to train. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/toypoodle.htm http://www.yourpurebredpu... There is also the Miniature Poodle, which is slightly larger, and a little more sturdy. | | | | | | |
