Hi Everyone, I'm finally back. I put this discussion in Life because I finally feel like I got one again.
I had a virus (Trojan)on my computer called "Vundo H"...and, it was mind boggling. It would not let me on the "myLot" site at all, and a few other websites it didn't want me on. It's basically Spyware, Malware, whatever you want to call it. It also is extremely hard to get rid of but I honestly feel it's gone now. It also pretended to send me Security Warnings from Microsoft in the way of pop-ups. It looked EXACTLY like the Microsoft Logo and pages, telling me I had a virus and do this scan and it would be cleared up. Well, it would have downloaded all kinds of crap if I would have fell for that. Scary, scary, scary.
I am not a very good computer person so I was at a loss as to what to do. This virus I swear has a complete mind of it's own. I don't have any links to give you to show you what it is because I don't even want to honor it in that way. You can google it if you want, but make sure you put in the H afterwards because I think it's an upgrade from just Vundo.
I have learned so much in this last six days it's amazing. I think I'm going to become a computer geek, hahaha! Trust me, it'll never happen, but I did more things to this computer than I ever thought possible.
I also have Norton Internet Security 2009 just installed recently and NORTON didn't even catch it, that's how smart it is.
I won't go into detail on everything I went through because I might as well write a book on it....and all the smarts I could muster up to get rid of it.
I ended up using a free download (which I'm going to upgrade and buy) from Malwarebytes complimentary from CNET.....and I can't tell you enough on how happy I am with this product I used. I was completely amazed. I scanned it once and found out I had 87 things on my computer infected. Norton only found a few tracking cookies...big deal. I ended up scanning once, it quarantined all of it, so they thought. Then Norton popped up and said it also quarantined the same virus found in the registry. Next day I scanned again with Malwarebytes, and found it in 8 more places. Re-quarantined and so far so good. It has something to do with the re-boot, that this virus just comes back on and takes over again.
Anyway, I have scanned and scanned all day, downloaded all the updates available from Norton and Malwarebytes and neither came up with anything. I've done three complete thorough scans again today and so far so good. And, here I am, back on myLot.
Hope I didn't bore you too much with all this blah, blah, blah but I can tell you one thing......Malwarebytes did the job.....I am NOT affiliated with this site or their product but I do recommend it. I'm using this plus Norton right now so I hope all goes well.
You guys take care and watch where you're clicking!

Awwwwww, Thanks ElicBxn.
Maybe it's been longer, I'm not sure, just took a wild guess, haha.
All I know is, it's been miserable for me and I'm soooo glad it's over, I hope.
Thanks for responding and take care!

Yes, I guess it was about six days or so. Long enough for me to feel like I was losing my mind, haha.
I'm sorry I haven't responded to your discussions, I was off myLot for about two months and just came back a few weeks ago. I was just trying to catch up with everyone little by little, and it's hard with so many friends.
You're right though, I do not start that many discussions. Sometimes I just can't think of what I want to say, and then other times when I do, I think that it's a dumb thing to write about, hahaha! Take care!
I'll try to keep up more.

HAHAHAHAHA! I think your virus is easier to get rid of that mine was.
You don't have rubbish, you make me laugh and that's all that counts!
