Do You Like Your Supervisor Or Boss?

The company I work for just rotated Supervisors. No one really knows the story why this has happened, but it does give me a new Supervisor. I've had her before as a Supervisor and I didn't like her. When I was pregnant with my son she really treated me poorly and I lost all respect for her. Now she is my Supervisor again and I'm not really upset about it, but I would much rather have my other Supervisor back. Do you like your Supervisor or Boss?

no she's one of those people that stick strictly to the rules, and loves to show her authority. she's very bossy, and doesn't listen to others ideas. she's lazy too. she'll do a little work, only to make you work faster, cause you can never work fast enough for her. and she doesn't care what is going on, you better figure out how to do what she wants done, no matter how stupid it is.

I really like my boss, as he is an understanding and caring person, he treats us more like friends than his staffs. He is not the very serious type of boss which only asks you to work, work and work. He always has fun with us, and he does not mind we have fun at work too, as long as we get our work done, then it's fine. I am currently pregnant and I was not feeling well at the first trimester of my pregnancy, and my boss allows me to work from home, so I do not need to travel to work. He said, my well-being and my baby's health are more important now.
I am really glad to have such a good boss.

When I was working I had several supervisors, some I liked and some I didn't. One I had to let her know that I was capable of doing my job and I didn't need her constant supervision or her dictating to me what to do. I had to take her to her superior before I got her off my back. It was another one he was a man and he just like to pick on me because I would not back down from him. We end up being great friends. He told me I was one of the best workers he had ever come across, I did my job didn't complain and had a perfect attendance. When he was bored and needed someone to debate with he would always come to me. That would tickle my co-workers, the would spot him before I did. The would always say here he comes.

I very much like my boss. She lets me do my work without interference. If there's something in particular she needs me to do, she always asks, never demands.

So far, I only have one evil supervisor during my 5 years of working experience. That was a disaster and the supervisor was trying to eliminate me from the company just because the other colleagues were closer with me and not her. By the way, she was at least 15 years my senior. But after that, I have yet to meet with an evil supervisor. All my previous bosses are very nice people who have helped me a lot in the past, and some of them are still helping and guiding me now.

This really makes a huge difference of wanting to go to work when you have someone you like in charge.
I have not been working myself for three years (due to health issues) but my old boss was excellent. She allowed me to take charge and sort things out my way. We did not have many staff working at the shop, but I really loved being my own boss 'sort of speak'.
I hope your supervisor does not give yous a hard time at work. It is far better to be nice to your co workers than mean.
I would report anything that annoys or upsets you at work, if you think it is in the work rules. Some people really need telling off sometimes and this includes supervisors.

Well, I work in retail and we have a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, Floor Supervisor, Key Managers and Associates.
I am a Key Manager - which doesn't mean much except that I'm trusted enough to open the store or close the store alone and have the power to make decisions regarding customers (returns, complaints etc.)
Our Store Manager left our store back in November, kinda last minute, so our new Store Manager is just the "acting" manager until corporate can decide who to place here. The girl who is "acting" at the moment is young. She is nice.. but she is 18 and really had no business being put in that position. She's not only young in age but she is young in the sense that she is having a VERY hard time handling the pressure of her new position and it's showing. She was happy to be on the power trip but isn't happy to do what she needs to do. I like her, as a co-worker, not as the store manager. My other co-workers are all 18-19 years old. I'm the oldest and it sucks. These girls just want to gossip about each other and I stay out of it yet, somehow, I know I'm going to get pulled into it without wanting to be.
Our District Manager is a woman who is older than me and she comes into our store maybe once every two weeks or so. She's nice but I can't stand her. She has worked for this company for 20+ years and has forgotten what it's like to work in the actual store. She *thinks* she knows but she has no flipping clue. She will come in and tell us how we should be doing things with the customers or the store but it's so backwards, it's not even funny. She just stresses everyone out.
I hope I can quit this job soon and go back to working in an office where I belong.

I do like my boss he's pretty laid back & easy going. he likes 2 stay out of things. u don't get much repremanding from him or anything like that. His son has joined our team now & he seems like he's going to be a little more demanding. He's retired from the army though so he's used to scheduled things.
