Have ever wondered why a film was a blockbuster?

Hey I was thinking about some of the movies that made a lot of money at the box office and got all the snaps by the critics but sometimes I wounder why this movie or that movie was such a big hit like that movie knocked up I just didnt get why they made such a big deal out of that movie, I guess it was kind of funny but I still dont get why it was a hit at the box office but thats just my opinion but there are a lot of other movies that I cant think of at the moment that were hits that I just dont get why, but I guess it might be all the media hype and promotions. Tell me have ever watched a film that was a hit and said to your self what was the big deal why is this a hit?
