I have been on venlofaxine for almost two months now. I'm only on a very low dose once a day. I have tried many different medications, but I have had some very nasty side effects. So far I have had no side effects on venlofaxine. But I have been reading some rather disturbing information online about the long term effects of being on this medication and how difficult it is to come off. I was just wondering wether anyone here has any interesting experiences of this drug.

I don't take it but my husband has taken some medications which have had very bad side effects.. I am not sure about this one, but I can tell you, he has had some horrible side effects with his cholesterol medications, so he now takes nothing for it.. I hope you can find more information on this one because the long term side effect can do more damage than when you find out right off if a medicine is going to hurt you or not.. If you find out soon enough, then you can quit it before it does any long term damage.. Good luck to you..

Thank you for your kind response. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place with this medication. As it seems to be helping. But at the same time I don't really know the long term effects. Googling sometimes can be misleading and you tend to hear more bad than good.

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle depression.
