What do you think of when you see the Colonel Mascot of KFC? Yes to me he does remind me of KFC, but besides him being the founder of KFC, i don't see how the Colonel Mascot has anything to do with chicken nor relate to it in any way. It's the same as Ronald MacDonalds as the MacDonald Mascot. And now with the kids club and all, they have come up with a new mascot. A chicken as it's mascot. So what say you? Do you think that using Colonel as a Mascot is a better option or do you think using a chicken is more appropriate and relates more to KFC?

Well I remember when KFC was called Kentucky Fried Chicken and prior to that there was a business called Geno's they sold hambergers and Colonel Sanders Original Receipe Kentucky Fried Chicken. So the mascot yes makes sense. The idea isn't so much fried chicken but rather SOUTHERN fried chicken, and there were those who may have fit the stereo type of the Colonel. Back in the 1930's Harland Sanders made an honorary Colonel by the Gov. of Kentucky had used his mothers reciepe for "southern" fried chicken and opened a place that became so popular it lead to what is now KFC franchise. So yes the Colonel makes sense as a mascot but then he is not a mascot nor really he was the spokes person for years he passed away in 1980 at the age of 90. So in the early days you went to go get a good southern meal from the Kentucky Colonel. As for using a chicken as a mascot for the place, I can't see how that would work, think of the imagry, it would be like using Porky Pig to sell bacon or Bambi to sell venison.
