Which do you prefer Xbox 360 or Playstation 3?  

thanks for your opinion. a buddy of mine had a PS3 and he came here and played Halo on the 360 and afterwards went out and bought a 360 himself and now his PS3 sits on the shelf barely even touched... i see your point thought he 360 does cost more for the various add-ons and attachments plus the membership fee and it would help if it had a browser on it but i still prefer it over the PS3. I have however always been an xbox man i had two regular xbox consoles and never had a PS2 i did however have an original PS system until i sold it to buy a gamecube lol, thanks again for your input

xbox 360 i have both. I prefer xbox's games more. Gow2, halo 3, halo wars.

thank you for your input Monk. where i live a lot of people have 360s and not so many have the PS3. do you play online on the Xbox? if so what have your experiences been with the 360 during online play?

I have played some of the Call of Duty games online with fantastic results. What about you?

i play Halo 3 online on a daily basis and for the most part i have outstanding results, there are occasions where people lag and that makes the game a little frustrating but it's to be expected. i have also play hockey and basball online with similar results, i think it's great how you can play against people from all over the world online, that way even if you're home along you don't have to play by yourself

I agree. It's also fun to play with friends who live far off.

yeah it is, it can make it seem like your friends never left i play online with a few of my friends from all over the world. one of my friends is in the army and he even takes his xbox overseas and play online from anywhere and everywhere. also you can meet a lot of people and even if you never know their names or where they're from they sort of become frinds and you look forward to playing against them again

This is very true. It's also one of the reasons that prompted me to get a 360 -- when I saw the online capabilities, I was sold on it.

yea it's a great machine. what do you think of the new xbox experience with the little avatars and stuff?

I have only glanced at that. I keep intending to make a better avatar for me but I haven't yet. What do you think about it?

i think it's pretty cool, it gives you a chance to make your profile stand out from everyone elses. my guy is all dressed up with a suit and some sunglasses lol it can kill a few minutes for you if you're bored....they should add on some more clothes and possibly tattoos just for more originality and creative space, i don't have any tattoos for real but i know that a lot of people do and they might like to be able to put them on their avatar too`

I made an avatar and it looks too much like me for my own comfort. It would have been nice to have a few more options, but it's still a neat idea. The tattoos would be a good idea, too.

yea my guy looks quite a bit like me too that's why i gave him the glasses and the suit, two things i don't wear so that way i can say he doesn't look like me at all

I had wished they had a nice robe, but that wasn't one of the options, so I just put on some cargo shorts and a Hawaiian Aloha shirt.

lol nice, maybe we can get a petition of gamertags going around and ship it into microsoft to get some of these ideas put into action, a robe would be an excellent addition, and maybe some necklaces and pendants too

do you play either of them yourself? i will say taht for sports games the PS3 probably has a slight edge, i know for baseball games EA Sports can only make them for PS now they can't produce any baseball games for the other systems

Yea...I play Madden 09 on the PS3 on the 46 LCD tv....oh man the graphics are just awesome! Haven't played any games on the 360 so I can't compare them. Eventually I will.

i have all the high def cables nad a 52 inch flat screen, the 360 graphics are phenominal, especially in halo

thanks for your opinion. even if blue ray does become the norm wouldn't a blu ray dvd player be a cheaper option just to play the blu ray discs? if you haven't played a 360 yet i highly reccomend trying one out you may be surprised at the performance level it brings to the table

Regarding Blu-ray, with the way things have been going, I think it's more of a WHEN than an IF. Studios have already made the switch from HD to Blu-ray. Netflix has chosen Blu-ray as well.

Also, I am with enognis on the Microsoft dollars. We have already spent a fortune on operating systems and MS Office packages. I am not keen on giving them any more money than I have to.

Not to step on any toes, but to answer the question about a Blu-ray player being cheaper... Sure, you can find a basic Blu-ray player for less money than the PS3, but you can also find some that are more expensive. It depends on what you want in a player.

i live in Canada, i dunno why it says United States in my profile i clicked on Canada lol oh well i guess.... so what are you gonna do if blu ray doesn't take off like people think it will?? with all the high def and stuff coming out now i don't see how blu ray could be so much better myself, but i guess only time will tell... good luck with your investment and thanks for your post!

How very odd about your profile!

You do know that Blu-ray is 1080p and as HD as it gets, right? HD DVD has been discontinued, and Blu-ray is now recognized as the standard for high definition DVD format. In other words, HD DVD format = Betamax and Blu-ray = VHS.

haha thats simple because the 360 is better my friend....lol i like the 360 myself there are 3 of them in my house and they get played a lot, if you have never played the 360 i reccomend trying one out, it could change your opinion

I have played the xbox 360 and I prefer their control pads to the PS3 as they are more comfortable (not saying the PS3 are uncomfortable because they aren't). I like the PS3 because it has more power and potentially better graphics than the xbox 360. It's just a shame that PS3 users are missing out some of the action that 360 users have...

thanks for posting what do you think the next level will consist of for both platforms? there's gonna be more powerful stuff coming in the next few years, do you think that playstation 4 will be more powerful than the next xbox?

Well let's look at the past...
The Xbox was more powerful than the PS2, but the PS3 was more powerful than the xbox 360 so it could go either way. I honestly believe the next generation xbox will be more powerful than a ps4 because the gap between the PC and console is narrowing and xbox has Microsoft (who are big players, more so than Sony) to back it up.

true, i believe sony is japanese based though which would explain that, xbox is microsoft so it's clearly American and will always have that american style behind it
